Ed Schumacher Ignites Sparks in Canada
Director Ed Schumacher has signed with Sparks for exclusive Canadian representation. Schumacher is repped in the US via his recently-founded production company, Boy Genius.

Following a successful run as an agency writer, Schumacher moved into directing and helmed notable spots for Target (featuring Garth Brooks), Mercury Insurance, H&R Block, Energizer, and the New Orleans Hornets. His Hornets spot was a finalist in the One Show and also ran during the Super Bowl. In addition to traditional commercial work, Schumacher has also directed viral content for Bacardi and Pocket (featuring the famous "Careerbuilder chimps").

Via Boy Genius, Schumacher recently completed a follow-up round to the hugely successful Mercury Insurance Television campaign of last year. Boy Genius is represented by Yvette Lubinsky on the West Coast, Margaret Dismukes in the Midwest, and Rich Schafler on the East Coast. Joe Pistorio is Head of Production, and director Scott Corbett rounds out the roster.

Click 3X Signs Award-Winning Smoke Artist Tom Matheu
Click 3X recently added the talent and experience of veteran Smoke artist Tom Matheu to its growing motion graphics and effects team. Tom has worked across the industry, specializing in commercial post-production and pre-vis, with a powerful range of experience in editing, compositing, motion graphics, and VFX. The addition is part of the overall expansion of Click 3X’s New York studio, where the company recently added a new HD Smoke Room to complement the existing HD Linux Flames. Click 3X’s Partner/EP Jason Mayo notes, "We are really looking to add the best talent in the business to fuel our growth. Tom has an already tremendous VFX background and a very impressive body of work and we are really excited about the opportunity to deliver additional scope and talent to our clients."

Prior to joining Click 3X, Tom spent three years at Charlex/Launch in New York as a Smoke VFX and Motion Graphics Artist, working on projects for brands such as GlaxoSmithKline, Gillette, Coke, Novartis, Pillsbury, and Pfizer. He also is a veteran of television and broadcast post-production design and visual effects, serving as both editor and artist at Show & Tell Productions and ABC Television. Matheu’s credits include a Sundance Special Jury Award for digital effects, a Clio Design Gold Award, and a BDA/Promax World Class Award.
