NASCAR driver Carl Edwards takes on the second role of an engineering teacher in a classroom full of enthusiastic young students. The students learn some basics of racing, but a clever lass in class uses her newfound knowledge to convince Carl Edwards to take them all out for ice-cream. Sneaky kids.

The ‘Ice Cream’ spot released is part of the larger ‘Acceleration Nation’ program, which NASCAR launched in time with the Daytona 500 race. The goal is to steer students of primary schools into greater proficiency within the subjects of science, technology, engineering and math. This also allows for the opportunity for NASCAR to potentially grow the sports’ fan base of younger supporters. Nascar is betting on STEM, because you know If it rolls. floats or crashes, runs on gasoline or high explosives, goes fast, shoots a big bullet, and makes lots of noise, thus producing torque and recoil, --- it's cool. You can only make stuff that does if you study STEM y'all.
