With tongue firmly placed in cheek, Smirnoff got extra topical this week mirroring President Trump & the ongoing saga of the "Russian investigation" that is happening in the United States. "Made in America." the brand brags, and continues "But we'd be happy to talk about our Russian ties under oath."
Ad agency 72andSunny created the ad, which is hot off the presses and running in select stations in the New York Metro area. President Trump has stated that he is "100%" willing to testify under oath about his conversations with James Comey. The vodka brand's Russian ties are that Smirnoff was founded in 1864 by Piotr Arseneevich Smirnov, in Russia, but American bought Smirnoff is actually made in a plant in Plainfield, Illinois.
