Rupert Neve enlists producers to help you #washandlearn

Rupert Neve Designs creates modern recording gear, for producers, engineers and other recording professionals. Their history is as long and storied as the man who founded the company.

Far from looking back on the past, however, the company continues to look forward, even during these pandemic times.

As I was scrolling through Instagram this morning, I saw a video from legendary engineer, producer and musician Alan Parsons. For those who don't know, he earned his first engineering credit on Abbey Road, moved on to engineer Dark Side of the Moon, and then went on to form the Alan Parsons Project and write a song that became the Chicago Bulls theme.

With his wealth of experience, he has a ton of wisdom to impart. And he did just that for a Rupert Neve social campaign called #WashAndLearn.

Parsons shot this video presumably from his southern California home, with the help of two bikini clad women who help him wash his hands, while he explains the key to getting the best out of a vocal performance: encouragement.

This is so in the weeds music-wise I can hear Dabitch's eyes rolling, but I think it's a brilliant tactic built for a niche audience. I mean who wouldn't want a mini Master Class by the likes of Parsons?

The campaign also features such notable luminaries dispensing as The Wailers official band leader and drummer  Aston Barrett Jr., Vance Powell of Sputnik Sound, Larry Crane.  Drew Thornton Ronan Chris Murphy and many more.

You can search #WashAndLearn on Instagram or check out super cuts volume one and two on Rupert Neve's YouTube channel.
