Modibodi #MyPeriodisGreen - (2020) (Australia)

Australia’s leading period and leak-proof apparel company, Modibodi, is reminding people with this short social of their core mission - no waste period wear. It's a bit of a pun, which works well in this type of segment,

Modibodi’s founder and CEO Kristy Chong said the brand is committed to protecting the environment and reducing the unnecessary reliance on single-use items such as pads and tampons to manage periods and other leaks: “Many people are shocked to know that the average woman will use 11,000 disposable feminine hygiene products in her lifetime (to manager her period) and these convenient products come with a huge environmental cost.

“At Modibodi we say NO to single use products. The energy and water of the raw materials, plus production and carbon emissions used in shipping these products – which are used once and replaced – are unacceptable. At Modibodi we put sustainability first and so do our customers, and we thank them for choosing to reuse!

“Every pair of Modibodi’s reusable undies saves the planet from the plastic in disposable period products. Since we launched in 2013, Modibodi has saved millions of garbage bags of waste from ending up in landfill, but there is so much more that we can do as a collective.”

Did you know that a single tampon takes more than a lifetime to break down in landfill? Or that one pad has the same amount of plastic as four carrier bags? Or that the first tampon, liner, and pad ever created are still lingering in a landfill somewhere in the world?

The #MyPeriodisGreen movement is set to take over social feeds as the brand encourages its audience to go green and educate others to do same.
