LesbianEmojis on Apple iTunes Created by Pitch's Kimberly Linn

2015 makes it easier to come out without coming out with LesbianEmojis, available now for the first time on Apple iTunes. The gay emoji series is the brainchild of designer Kimberly Linn, an associate creative director at Los Angeles ad agency Pitch—with key clients including Burger King, Citrix and Pepsi—which produced the project at Pitch Black, an incubator program at the agency that funds personal projects of employees. LesbianEmojis marks the first 2015 initiative for Pitch Black.

Kimberly created the idea last year with a friend when they realized they were only using the standard emojis available on their smartphones, which actually might be interpreted as gay. They created a long list of iconic lesbian images including the Uhaul, PBR can, turkey baster, and fish tacos. Pitch Black helped Kimberly to develop the emojis App and make it available on Apple iTunes by collaborating with the developers at 99centbrains. The LesbianEmojis premiered on their own Instagram page that has all of two followers, and will also be featured in a Southern California gallery exhibit later this year.
