2006 Night of the Living Dead: An Exhibition of Ads That Won't Die

What: Reception and award ceremony where killed advertisements rise to live again during this unique gallery event. Ads that never quite made it past the drawing board are resurrected by advertising creatives for a special night where prizes for the top three ads will be awarded and a stake will be driven through the ad that should have stayed dead.

When: Thursday November 9th, 2006 6:00-9:00 pm, Light refreshments will be served.

Where: The One Club Gallery, 21 East 26th Street, 5th Floor, New York City

Why: The account people canned it, the client never saw it, but the creatives behind the ad knew it could live. In the fall of 1987, The One Club decided to host a small exhibition honoring the tireless work of advertising creatives whose great ideas were ultimately killed. The One Club, honoring its mission to recognize and promote the best creative advertising, realized that although work may not make it through to the last round of production, it is often the result of other forces - financial or otherwise - that kept the work (which we felt still warranted praise) from getting out to the masses.
